The Club Players’ Competition will kick off the Senior Men's football season this weekend as almost all of Fermanagh's clubs return to GAA action after the 2023 season.

The pre-league tournament will enter its third year after only recently being introduced as all ten sides battle to gain points in order to climb higher and start with an advantage when the league begins in June.

Erne Gaels, Belcoo, Belnaleck, Derrygonnelly and Roslea will make up Group 1A while Devenish, Derrylin, Ederney, Enniskillen Gales and Kinawley contest 1B.

Aghadrumsee, Newtownbutler, Irvinestown, Tempo and Coa make up the teams in 2A as Maguiresbridge, Brookeborough, St Pat’s, Lisnaskea and Teemore face off in 2B.

After playing all four group games, the teams who finish in the same position in 1A will play 2A and 1B will play 2B.

The winners of the first position game will take three points over to the league while the losers will take two.

The teams in second will play for two points with the losing side taking one.

The third-place playoffs will fight for two points with the losing team taking one point. The fourth and fifth playoff games will result in both winners taking one point and the losers taking nothing over into the league.

All teams will play at least five games before the start of the league no matter what the group results end up.

They will be keen to open their campaign with results then gathered in the league also having a knock-on effect in the championship later in the year.

Erne Gaels will kick off their season at home to Belcoo with Belnaleck also hosting Derrygonnelly in 1A.

In 1B, Devenish play Derrylin at St. Mary’s with Ederney and Enniskillen Gaels meeting at St. Joseph’s Park.

Aghadrumsee host Newtownbutler in 2A and Tempo travel to face Irvinestown.

2B will open with two derby matches as Maguiresbridge face Brookeborough and Lisnaskea make the short trip to play St. Pats, Donagh.
