KENNETH SAUNDERSON

SAUNDERSON Kenneth Robert (Ken) Enniskillen Died 8th June 2017 The family of the late Ken Saunderson wish to express heartfelt thanks to all who supported us in so many ways during our recent bereavement. We are truly grateful to everyone who called at our home, brought gifts of food, sent sympathy cards, letters and emails, who telephoned, who signed the condolence book, and who gave donations in lieu of flowers for Friends of the Cancer Centre. Thanks to Hazel Johnston of The Jolly Sandwich and Marshall and Norman Coalter of Saddlers Restaurant who so generously provided food for the house. Thanks to all who joined the family cortege walking from our home on the Forthill to St Macartin's Cathedral and to everyone who attended the funeral service. Thanks to the members of Castle Hume Golf Club and Enniskillen Rugby Football Club who formed guards of honour entering and leaving the Cathedral, and who also, together with members of Enniskillen Amateur Dramatic Society and Star in the East Masonic Lodge 205, took turns to carry the coffin. Thanks to Very Rev Kenneth Hall for conducting such a moving and uplifting service and to Rev Olie Downey and Rev Chris MacBruithin who assisted during the service; to Glenn Moore, Director of Music and Organist, Jayne Haslett, Assistant Director of Music, and the Cathedral Choir, for their beautiful music. Thanks to Saddlers Restaurant for providing refreshments after the service and to Mrs Eleanor Lynn and the ladies of the Mothers Union who tirelessly and cheerfully dispensed hospitality in the Cathedral Hall, and also to other members of the parish who helped in the hall. We wish to express our sincere thanks to all Ken's friends who supported him through his last illness; who drove him to Belfast for treatment, visited him at home and in hospital, and in so many other ways. Our heartfelt thanks to Dean Kenny and Rev Olie for the comfort of pastoral and prayer support throughout Ken's illness, during his many times in hospital and especially his last days at home. Thanks to Professor McMullen and the Haematology team at Belfast City Hospital, who treated Ken during his last illness; and to the staff of SWAH who cared for Ken during his many times as an inpatient during the past few months, including those in A&E, in Wards 1 and 2, and in particular Dr Eugene Campbell and the doctors and nurses of Ward 3 who provided such attentive care during his last stay in hospital. Thanks also to Dr Robertson and Bronnie of Palliative Care and Janet Kilfedder of NI Hospice for their sensitive support for Ken in hospital and at home. Thanks to Dr Cathcart's GP practice, and in particular Dr Cyril Graham, to the Out of Hours doctors, and to Lloyds Pharmacy. Thanks to SWAH's brilliant Rapid Response team, who treated Ken both as an outpatient and at home; also to the excellent Community Respiratory Team who provided care over many months. Thanks to all the care staff of Fermanagh Homecare, Care Plus and Lakeland Community Care, who helped Ken at home. A very special thanks to the wonderful District Nurses, especially Mary Cadden and Priscilla Fawcett who provided such professional and compassionate care during Ken's last days at home. Grateful thanks to Austen Stinson of W T Morrison Funeral Directors, together with Keith Elliott and Ken Coulter, for the discreet and expert manner in which they carried out all the funeral arrangements and for providing invaluable support and guidance to the family. Thanks also to Declan Finnegan and the staff of Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Cavan, for their warm welcome and efficiency; and again to Dean Kenny Hall for officiating at Ken's cremation. This acknowledgment allows us to express our gratitude for the love and support of our friends, our extended family and the community, and also for the many organisations and support services, all who have helped to sustain us during this sad time.
