Sewer repair work will be carried out by NI Water in Enniskillen over the next week.

Following discussions with town traders, the work will be carried out on days that are considered to be quieter shopping days.

From tomorrow (Sunday, November 29) until Tuesday, December 1, NI Water will begin work on constructing a new manhole in Cross Street.

Work to repair a sewer in Middleton Street will take place from Wednesday, December 9 until Friday 11.

An NI Water spokesman said: "This work is being carried out in full consultation with Transport NI.  NI Water has also notified the local Traders’ Association of the project, and every effort will be made to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.  Anyone experiencing any difficulties should contact us via Waterline by dialling 03457 440088."

In an email to other Enniskillen traders, owner of mercer's Jewellers Jonathan Styles wrote: "They (NI Water) have offered to carry out the work on a Wednesday and Sunday to minimise disruption to business in Enniskillen.

"I consider this to be most helpful and a step forward in our relationship with the planning of public services and their effect on our day to day business."
