The development of a sensory garden and recreational area for Killadeas Day Care Centre based at Lackaghboy Business Centre, Enniskillen has just started with the digging of the first sod.

The President of Enniskillen Rotary Club, Ken Rainey identified this as the main local project for his year in office and a local contractor, John Leonard, of Coleman Construction, was recently appointed to carry out phase one of the work involving development of the site.

"The area of ground at Lackaghboy Business Centre would then be used to accommodate a recreational area for suitably designed swings for adults and other special outdoor leisure equipment for service users at Killadeas," explained Ken.

He noted that fundraising efforts are continuing by the Rotary Club and Killadeas Day Care staff and relatives of those who will benefit.

Mr. Rainey said it is planned that the initial ground work will be complete by Christmas this year, "with the aim being to complete the entire project by early summer 2016."

Viscount Brookeborough, at a recent Rotary luncheon, described the initiative as "a tremendous project" and he congratulated the club for taking it on, while the benefits were also highlighted by Patricia Griffith, Service Manager of Killadeas Day Care Centre.

An exciting challenge for President Ken, he was delighted to report that work had started at Killadeas Day Care Centre. He extended thanks for all the 'help and encouragement' given to date towards the outdoor facility at Lackaghboy which has been described as "a dream come true for the service users who attend and those who support them."
