Derrygonnelly 0-07

Ederney 0-06

Derrygonnelly completed the double tonight as they edged a low scoring Division One final against Ederney on a 0-07 to 0-06 scoreline.
Martin Greene's Harps side had held a one point advantage at half time, 0-05 to 0-04, and although the contest remained tight throughout the second half, it was Derrygonnelly who were to go on and claim the victory.
Ederney were the brighter side in the opening quarter of the contest although there was little in the way of scoring chances.
Peter Gormley knocked over the opening score with a point from play in the fourth minute but the next score didn't arrive until the 13th minute as Gormley landed his and Ederney's second point.
When Paul McCusker followed up with a point from a free it put Mark Henry's side into a 0-03 to 0-00 advantage but it was Derrygonnelly who were to take over after this.
The championship winners were slow to get going and it took them 17 minutes to get up and running through a Paul Ward free but another three points in the next four minutes had them in front as they started to get a grip around the middle third.
Conall Jones slotted over after good work from Ryan Jones and Stephen Burns then banged over a fine effort from long range.
A Ward point then edged the Harps in front before Leigh Jones put them two ahead, 0-05 to 0-03 with a converted free.
Ederney though claimed the last point of the half through a Paul McCusker free to leave them one behind at the interval, 0-05 to 0-04.
The encounter remained close in the second half but scores were at a premium.  Substitute Ryan Morris levelled things up with a good point from play in the 41st minute for Ederney but the Harps responded with a fine solo effort from Eamon McHugh.
Paul McCusker had a chance to equalise for Ederney with four to go but he kicked wide from a free kick.
And Leigh Jones then put two in it from a free, 0-07 to 0-05 and although Morris tagged on a point for Ederney, Derrygonnelly held on to secure the win and a first double for the club.
