SIX alleged immigration offenders have been arrested during two separate Immigration Enforcement operations in Enniskillen.

Three immigration offenders were arrested at Ruby Palace Chinese restaurant on Belmore Street in an intelligence led operation by Immigration Enforcement Crime Team officers on Friday, January 22.

A further arrest was made later at a residential address.

A 39-year-old Chinese man who was in the country illegally and working as a chef at the restaurant and a 59 -year-old Chinese woman who had overstayed her visa appeared before Omagh Crown Court on Saturday, January 23 and were remanded in custody.

A 34-year-old Chinese woman and a 31-year-old British man were released while their cases are progressed.

In a separate operation on Thursday, January 14 at the Welcome Inn on Sligo Road, Immigration Enforcement officers arrested a 35-year-old Malaysian man and a 24-year-old Chinese man when it was discovered that they had overstayed their visas. Both men have now been transferred to immigration detention until their removal from the country.
