Dungannon Swifts 6 Ballinamallard Utd 1
An understrength Ballinamallard shipped six goals as they made their exit from the League Cup at the hands of Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park tonight.
The hpome side, who also hit six on Saturday against Portadown, opened the scoring on 25 minutes through Alkly Taggart before doubling their advantage through a Stefan Lavery header.
Lavery bagged his second of the night and Swifts third as he rounded Crawford in the Mallards goal to slot home and the home side went on to net a fourth before half time as Jamie Glackin got on the scoresheet.
Gavin Dykes side did pull a goal back early in the second half when teenager Niall Owens grabbed his first goal for the first team but Dungannon finished the game strongly and late goals from Burke and Glackin rounded off a miserable night for the away team.
