A MOTHER-of-two who admitted possessing £30 worth of cocaine has been told she has “a lot to lose” if she repeats the offence.

Kelly Roberts (32), of Barnhill, Lisnaskea, was charged with possessing a Class A controlled drug, namely cocaine, on January 5, 2016.

Roberts entered a guilty plea when she appeared before Fermanagh Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

The court heard that, on the date in question, police searched a property at Lisgoole Park, Enniskillen, which was the home address of a male co-accused in the case.

A wrap containing a quantity of white powder was found on a ledge in a built-in wardrobe, the court heard.

The male advised the police that the defendant had told him she had left it there. During a subsequent interview, Roberts made a full admission to the offence. She informed officers that the white powder was cocaine valued at £30. Defending counsel, Stephen Fitzpatrick, observed that his client, who was a mother to two children aged 12 and 13, acknowledged that her behaviour had been “foolish”, but urged the judge to give credit for her admissions.

District judge, Nigel Broderick, observed that a mother of two children should not be in possession of Class A drugs.

The judge said he would impose a fine on this occasion.

However, he warned her that she risked a more severe penalty and the involvement of social services if she repeated the offence.

“You’ve a lot to lose,” he added.

Mr Broderick imposed a £250 fine.
