Newly born twin sisters Julia and Jessica Grey are just two little bundles of joy, such is the joy they have brought to their parents and the wider family circle since their arrivals earlier this month, November.

Their delighted parents, Judith Grey, née Wilson, a former Miss Northern Ireland, and husband Gareth are greatly enjoying their twin daughters, who were born on November 7, 2016, and are now settling into a routine at the family’s Killadeas home. Sharing in the excitement is the twins’ brother, Wilson, who celebrated his fifth birthday on November 9, just two days after his baby sisters arrived.

Judith is pictured holding Julia Miriam Grey, who entered the world weighing six pounds, and in Gareth’s arms is Jessica Ingrid Grey, who arrived weighing six pounds, eight ounces. Called after their grandmothers, Julia’s second name is after Gareth’s mother Miriam Ferguson and Jessica’s second name is after Judith’s mother Ingrid Logan.

Like their older brother, Wilson, the girls made their arrivals during a significant week for the family - during Remembrance Week. Julia and Jessica are the twin great granddaughters of Mrs. Joan Wilson (wife of the late Senator Gordon Wilson) who lost their daughter Marie (Wilson and the twins’ great aunt) in the Enniskillen Remembrance Day Bomb on November 8, 1987. Their great grandfather, the late Gordon was also injured in the explosion.

Just over two weeks old, the baby girls - who are the source of much happiness - were delivered at South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen after 35 weeks’ gestation.

Judith acknowledges the care received from the maternity unit at S.W.A.H. and she gives a particular mention to her consultant Dr. Kidwai.

For Judith, a part-time teacher, and husband Gareth, an ice cream manufacturer of Tickety-Moo ice cream, it’s proving an enjoyable experience to have the twins home, where they are settling in well, and doing very well. There has also been a warm welcome for his sisters from Wilson, who dotes over them.

Causing delight all round, Judith says they have brought a lot of joy. In addition to their delighted grandparents, the children have three great grandmothers Elsie Grey and Violet Wood as well as great granny Joan Wilson. The photographs are by Emer McCubbin Photography.
