A MAN in his 70s was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving following a collision that left a couple in a vintage car hospitalised on Sunday afternoon. 
He was later released on bail following the two car collision on the Loughshore Road near Blaney.
The occupants of the vintage car are believed to be a husband and wife from County Monaghan.
The driver had to be cut free by a firefighter and both were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which police say are not life threatening “at this stage.”
The male driver of the second vehicle, believed to have been a white Citroen car, was also taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are also not believed to be life threatening.
Three fire appliances; two from Enniskillen Fire Station and one from Belleek Fire Station attended the scene along with four ambulances. A number of other emergency personnel were also called to the incident after 12.20pm, including police officers on motorbikes. 
A spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was dealt with at 1.10pm and added: “The driver of one of the vehicles was out of the car on arrival of firefighters. In the second vehicle one casualty was out of the vehicle on arrival of firefighters and the other was rescued by a firefighter using specialist cutting gear.” 
In a statement to this newspaper, Police Inspector Robert McGowan appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police in Enniskillen on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 663 18/06/17.
