A MAN has been left “very badly shaken” after two men wearing balaclavas attempted to rob him in the Irvine Crescent area of Enniskillen on Monday afternoon, the PSNI have revealed.

At round 3.50pm, as the man was walking along the street, he was approached by two unknown males who were wearing balaclavas. One of the males was carrying a bat.

They demanded that he hand over money, which he refused to do.

A scuffle ensued and the two suspects then made off from the scene empty handed in the direction of the Glebe Park area.

“It is not believed that the male sustained any injuries, although he was left very badly shaken,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

Constable Angela Caldwell would appeal to anyone who may have noticed these two males or anyone who has information about this incident to contact Police at Enniskillen on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 993 26/06/17.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
