A 36-YEAR-OLD woman who was drunk and disorderly in Lisbellaw on the Twelfth of July has been put on Probation for a year.
Sonia Chittick, of Chanterhill Lodge, Enniskillen, was charged with using disorderly behaviour at Main Street, Lisbellaw on July 12, 2017.
The village was the venue for this year’s ‘Twelfth’ parade in County Fermanagh.
Chittick had entered a guilty plea to the charge at an earlier appearance before Fermanagh Magistrates Court and a pre-sentence report was prepared in the case.
At her sentencing on Monday, the court heard that, at 4.45pm, police on foot patrol along Main Street in Lisbellaw observed the defendant standing outside a pub, shouting and swearing at members of the public.
Upon speaking to her, officers detected a strong smell of intoxicating liquor.
Despite being told repeatedly to calm down by the police, Chittick refused to do so.
District judge, Nigel Broderick, observed that a number of issues had been outlined in the pre-sentence report.
Imposing a 12-month Probation Order on the defendant, the judge told the court that she would benefit from statutory intervention.
