FERMANAGH and Omagh District Council's elected representatives are taking part in a learning and development programme focusing on Domestic Violence and/or abuse.
According to a minute in the latest Policy and Resources Committee report, the three to six month awareness raising programme includes accredited training for designated staff, employee and manager awareness training and elected member awareness training.
It will include input from Men's Action Network and the rollout of the programme will begin next month with training for designated staff/Domestic Violence Champions and awareness raising for staff.
It is proposed to hold the elected member awareness session in February next year at the Townhall.
The estimated cost of the programme is £2,100.
