Top livestock breeding showcased to the world!

Some of the best quality Charolais cattle, both pedigree and commercials will be on view to some of the best breeders across the world this weekend in Fintona.

The National Charolais Show has been moved to this Saturday, June 16 to coincide with the World Charolais Congress visit to Northern Ireland of around 230 delegates.

A new Super Sire Parade of Stock Bulls as well as the popular Animax Young Handler Competition which starts at 1.30pm. Pedigree cattle showing begins at 2pm.

The Show has been heavily sponsored with many local businesses providing a support to the Club.

The Club Committee is inviting those involved in the agri-food industry to join them at this showcase event where they can meet delegates attending the World Charolais Congress which marks the Golden Jubilee of the British Charolais Society.

According to the Northern Ireland Charolais Club, the Ecclesville Centre is purpose built with an indoor arena normally used for equestrian activities which is adapted for the showing classes and championships giving them one of the safest handling facilities in Northern Ireland. There is a tiered area for spectators who can take full advantage from this viewing gallery. Regardless of whether you are connected to agriculture or not, it is also a window of opportunity to those businesses involved in the agri food industry.

Sponsors of the 2012 show will display their products and services in our trade stand area and make use of the banner space facility and free advertising space in the show catalogue. The Northern Ireland Charolais Club will endeavour to provide a high degree of promotion for all their sponsors during the NI National Charolais show.

Numerous well established local businesses are again supporting the National Charolais Show in Fintona many of them are already market leaders. Several new sponsors are delighted to give financial support this year for the first time and the Club expect that this show will give them opportunities to meet new customers and creating new business.

The club have been planning this event for over two years.

"We invite everyone with connections to the agri food industry to join us in this showcase as we promote the Charolais beef breed which has stood the test of time as the No 1 premier beef breed across the world. Away from the ringside, delegates will have the opportunity to speak with the supply sector's trade stands and investigate the latest technology to invest in to improve their businesses," a spokesman for the Club stated.

The club thanks all its sponsors for their financial support of classes and championships, along with the British Charolais Society, Omagh District Council and Bank of Ireland.

The show judges are Mrs Florrie Telford, Mr Archie McGregor and Mr JK Currie.

The Show programme begins at 1.30pm sharp with the Young Handlers followed by showing at 2pm.
