The 96th Clogher Valley Show takes place next Wednesday, July 30 at the Augher showgrounds, adjacent to the primary school.

Regarded as the biggest one-day show in Northern Ireland, it encapsulates everything that a spectator would expect in a rural show.

With a strong livestock section featuring both pedigree and commercial cattle and sheep, the 60 acres of showgrounds will also feature a large horse and pony showing and showjumping section as well as home industries, crafts and trade stands.

This year, Secretary, Ruth Montgomery, has announced they will be hosting 12 championships with exhibitors from all over Ireland presenting their livestock in the judging rings.

Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council are the main sponsors in the equestrian section with a total prize fund of £6,000 with Teemore Engineering sponsoring the dairy cow championship.

Clogher Show hosts the Charolais Cattle Championship, sponsored for the first time by MINSUPS, as well as hosting the Linden Foods/NISA pedigree beef heifer championship.

The other championships are; £2,000 Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council All Ireland working hunter horse championship, £1,000 Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council NPS Pony Championship, £1,000 Linden Foods/NISA pedigree beef heifer championship; £500 All Ireland Blonde Calf Championship; £500 T.J.Booth and Son commercial beef heifer championship; £500 Clogher Valley Credit Union commercial beef bullock championship, £500 Eprizero Ayrshire cow derby; £500 Devenish Nutrition maiden dairy heifer championship, £500 Clogher Valley/Danske Bank All Ireland continental sheep championship; £300 Jimmy Johnson’s Bar British and Irish native sheep championship and Cydectin Zoetis sheep young handlers final.

Clogher Show will also be host toa long list of Irish Shows Association qualifiers.

In the horse section, Clogher Valley Show will be hosting the Cuddy Breeders Challenge supreme in-hand championship and is the the only show in Ireland to hold this qualifer for the Horse of the Year Show to be held at the NEC in Birmingham in October this year.
