Farmers in hilly areas of the county have had to continue to cope with almost Arctic like conditions, especially where cattle and sheep are outwintered.
Dairy farmers have also been ensuring to keep farm lanes clear of snow and ice for the daily collection of milk or deliveries of animal feed.
However country roads have been treacherous in many part of the county, sometimes leading to delays in lorries travelling to their destinations.
As this photograph by John McVitty shows, some farmers turned to their sturdy old timer tractors to get around their farm.
The weather conditions are expected to ease this weekend.
