Mark Gibson, Club Leader of Trillick and District YFC, has become the first member in the Club’s history to gain a place on a team which will represent the Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster at the 2015 Rural Youth European Rally.

The 2015 Rally Team, which is to be led by YFCU Deputy President, Roberta Simmons from Rathfriland YFC, has three other members - Christina McCollam, Lylehill YFC; Jane Kilpatrick of Donaghadee YFC and Geoff Thompson of Annaclone and Magherally YFC. They will travel to Upper Austria, in August where the theme of the gathering will be “Work hand in hand – Create your land.” The announcement of the team members was made at a lunch hosted by Danske Bank who are a Platinum sponsor of the YFCU and long standing supporters of the Rally Teams.

Mark, a draughtsman at Severfield Rowen, Ballinamallard, sees his membership of the Rally team as an opportunity both to broaden his horizons and to experience new cultures and ways of living. He also looks forward to developing friendships among the representatives of the other young farmers’ organisations across Europe.

The members of Trillick & District YFC are delighted that Mark has been awarded a place on the Rally Team and wish him a very enjoyable trip!
