Ben Allister with JLS stars Oritsé Williams and JB Gill at the MS Society Awards in London.

ENNISKILLEN teen, Ben Allister was rubbing shoulders with popstars JLS this week when he was awarded the MS Society's Young Person of the Year accolade in London.

The 17-year-old raised more than £19,000 for the MS Society in the space of three months through a 90 mile sponsored cycle and sponsored non-uniform days.

He was one of three people shortlisted for the Young Person accolade after being nominated by Maureen Welsh the Vice Chair of the Fermanagh branch of the MS Society.

Ben was presented with his award by Oritsé Williams from the band JLS - whose mum has multiple sclerosis (MS).

The X Factor star was clearly impressed by Ben's fundraising efforts: "What Ben has achieved is amazing. It's hard to raise a penny these days and he's raised £19,000. He's a well-deserved winner!" he said.
