Colourful Dragon Parade fires up Enniskillen
Children in fancy dress joined the Dragon Parade through Enniskillen today.
Falkor the dragon, made by Jon and Genevieve Designs assisted by children from local primary schools, arrived at the Diamond in Enniskillen at 1.00pm, accompanied by a Samba band.
As well as wearing fancy dress, children were invited to bring their hopes and dreams written on a card or piece of paper that was fastened to a helium balloon on the dragon.
The dragon then carried these to the gates of the castle in a parade through Enniskillen followed by children in fancy dress. The children's wishes and dreams rose to the sky when the dragon arrived at the Castle and the balloons were released.
This afternoon, there is a range of free children's activities for all the family at the castle. Nail and face painting, balloon modelling, dressing up and drumming workshops are all on offer. Women of the World areon hand to dress little ones up in Bollywood costumes while Highland dancers are entertaining. There is also a carousel.
Prior to the dragon's arrival at the Diamond, came from the Castle accompanied by the children who helped in its creation.
The parade and family events at Enniskillen Castle are part of the packed FLive Festival programme running until October 8
