Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams has just completed a Twitter Q&A with the Impartial Reporter, during which he again apologised for the 1987 Enniskillen bomb and revealed that “governments, recipients and political parties” knew about the 'on the run' letters.

He said the resignation of First Minister Peter Robinson over the controversy “will not resolve anything.” Asked if he would send Mr. Robinson a farewell card if he decides to resign, Mr. Adams replied: “Peter resigning will not resolve anything. Issues will not go away - they need tackled.” He was asked by UKIP Newry and Armagh: “Are you prepared to name this who knew about the OTR letters?” to which he replied: “Yes govts, recipients, political parties.” Enniskillen-man Stephen Gault, whose father Samuel was killed in the Enniskillen bomb asked Mr. Adams: “Should the IRA terrorists who murdered my father on Remembrance Sunday 1987 go to jail for their act of Terrorism?” Mr. Adams replied: “Many people have suffered grievously during the conflict. these include people killed by the IRA.

“I am sorry about the Enniskillen explosion.

“All this need dealt with. Haass proposals provide a wy 4ward.” Asked if he would “return to terrorism” if a majority voted 'No' on a referendum on a United Ireland, Mr. Adams wrote: “There is no excuse or reason for political violence from any quarter. There is a peaceful+democratic way to agree the future.” The Sinn Fein leader since 1983, Gerry Adams said: “IRA has gone away. Look to the future, build the peace.”
