BERAGH farmer John Moore claimed the overall Champion of Champions title in the cattle section of this year's Omagh Show.

Back for its 174th year, Tyrone Farming Society's annual show returned with all the usual favourite attractions.

One of the first to arrive at the show this morning (Saturday) was the President of Tyrone Farming Society, the Duke of Abercorn.

Despite a dismal forecast the sun shone throughout Saturday as visitors flocked to the spacious showgrounds to enjoy the diversity of activities which the show is renowned for.

Besides the various agricultural classes the ever popular dog show returned for another year as well as the fashion show.

And later in the day the Vintage Vehicle Parade, Donkey Derby and Young Farmers' Tug of War all provided plenty of entertainment. .

The Ambulance Service had to be called to the showgrounds during the earlier part of the day when a young girl's hand was crushed while working with horses.

She was taken to the South West Acute Hospital.
