Dear Madam, - Perhaps now that the drilling has started people will realise that the unthinkable could happen, if we don’t take a stand. We need to safeguard the future environment for our children and the generations to come. It is really sad that our own Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment’s recent comment was “let’s find out what’s down there”.
Never mind what’s underground, people should look around and see what we risk losing.
Fermanagh is a landscape of rolling hills, green pastures and lakes of great beauty, equal to The Lakes of Killarney. (I can’t imagine their landscape being allowed to be interfered with). We have a particularly delicate balance of nature here, not to be abused and ransacked. Fermanagh’s tourism, fishing and farming industries are all at risk. Our own local minister should spend more time and effort safeguarding our heritage and promoting these jewels in Fermanagh’s crown.
Yours faithfully, Frances Morris.
