A new book, Portora and the Great War 1914 to 1918, is being launched today - Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11.
The launch takes place this evening at Portora Royal School, Enniskillen, for the new title, written by Robert Northridge, a retired Deputy Headmaster of Portora and an old Portoran. The book views the war from the point of the school and the pupils who went to the war. Incorporated are the biographies of 64 Portorans who went to the war. The 100 page full colour A4 book will be available at tonight’s launch and afterwards from Portora Royal School. Everyone is welcome to attend the launch, which will be held in the school's Steele Hall and starts at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in attending is advised to contact the school.
Previously Mr. Northridge, with Dr. Ralph J. Forbes, co-authored The Flora of County Fermanagh, which was launched at Portora two years ago.
