A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital for emergency surgery after being stabbed during an incident at Main Street, Trillick.

A PSNI spokesman said the victim’s injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man following the stabbing in the early hours of Wednesday, January 21.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector David Hallawell said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the Main Street area of Trillick around 2am on Wednesday, January 21, and may have witnessed this incident to contact detectives at Omagh on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
