The Western Education and Library Board (WELB) has received Department of Education approval to its Economic Appraisal for a £6m new build school for Enniskillen Model PS. This approval allows the WELB to continue to work with appointed Consultants, McAdam Design, and Enniskillen Model PS to finalise the design of the new school. The new school will be located on the existing site. The pupils will remain in the existing school during the construction and will decant into the new school, once completed.
Mr Barry Mulholland, WELB Chief Executive, stated: "The WELB is delighted for Enniskillen Model Primary School. The approval to the Economic Appraisal moves the project forward and will provide much needed accommodation for the school. A new Enniskillen Model Primary School will provide a modern place of learning and teaching for the pupils and staff."
The design concept for the Enniskillen Model Primary School is well developed and it is expected that the new school should be completed by spring 2017.
