Justice has finally caught up with a 30-year-old driver who seriously injured two young men in a car crash four-and-a-half years ago.

Brian Francis Corrigan, of Drumbrughas, Macken, Enniskillen, appeared at Dungannon Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday) and was jailed for 10 months.

He was also banned from driving for two years.

He had pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily injury to Ciaran Kelly and Brian Brough by driving carelessly on the Loughshore Road at Blaney on September 4, 2010.

The two men were passengers in a red Vauxhall Cavalier being driven by the then 26-year-old Corrigan when it crashed off the Enniskillen to Belleek road and hit a tree.

Corrigan was subsequently charged with a number of motoring offences and a date had been set for his trial. However, he went to Australia and after coming to the attention of the police there was sent back to Northern Ireland. He was remanded in custody.
