Fermanagh manager Pete McGrath has confirmed that captain Eoin Donnelly will miss Saturday night's Allianz NFL Division Three final at Croke Park after the midfielder sustained a thumb injury.

However, there is better news on the injury front ahead of the decider at Head Quarters with both Sean Quigley and Richard O'Callaghan having been declared fit.

Donnelly's absence will be a massive blow to Fermanagh with the Coa man having been an integral part of the side as they secured promotion to Division Two.

"Eoin has a thumb injury which will keep him out of Saturday night's game," revealed McGrath. "It's unfortunate, but we are all in football long enough to know that these things can raise their heads at the most unpleasant times. It's very hard on Eoin as he is a great captain and a great fella and Fermanagh don't get to play too many finals in Croke Park. But he is mature enough and wise enough to understand that this is part and parcel of sport."

Better news though surrounds the availability of talisman Sean Quigley. The full forward, who finished the league as the top scorer over the entire four divisions, took a bang to the head during a club game last week but McGrath says the Roslea man took full part in a training camp at the weekend.

"Sean took a full part in training over the weekend. He took a knock to the head last week but he did all the sessions over the weekend and he is not a doubt at all."

And midfielder Richard O'Callaghan will also be available for selection on Saturday evening.

"Richie missed a bit of training but he has been back this last couple of weeks and he took full part in a 60 minute game on Saturday morning and came through it fine," he said.
