Roads Minister, Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a consultation process for a proposed £6million re-alignment scheme for the A32 between Irvinestown and Dromore.

The A32 Cornamuck realignment scheme involves the provision of a 1.4kms stretch of straightened single carriageway which is expected to improve the journey time between Enniskillen and Omagh/ The A32 is a Trunk Road within the Regional Strategic Transport Network and provides a link from Omagh and the surrounding areas to the South West Acute Hospital near Enniskillen. The scheme at Cornamuck includes 0.6km of online widening and realignment and a 0.8km section of offline carriageway construction. The plans include bus stops and associated lay-bys on the new section of carriageway. A new junction with Longhill Road is also proposed.

The consultation period starts to-day(Wednesday) and continues until Friday, October 9 2015.

The Draft Direction and Vesting Orders along with the Environmental Statement and other associated documents will be available for inspection during normal office hours at TransportNI Western Division Headquarters, County Hall , Drumragh Avenue, Omagh, Co Tyrone BT79 7AF; TransportNI, Castle Barracks, Enniskillen Co Fermanagh BT74 7HN; Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, the Grange Mountjoy Road, Omagh, Co Tyrone BT79 7BL and Townhall, 2 Townhall Street Enniskillen BT74 7BA.
