The Fermanagh SFC Final between Derrygonnelly Harps and Roslea Shamrocks has been postponed following the tragic death of Derrygonnelly Harps clubman Damian McGovern in a work related accident this morning.

In a statement, the Fermanagh County Board said: "Fermanagh GAA is shocked and saddened at the untimely death of Damian McGovern, Youth Chairperson and Minor manager of the Derrygonnelly Harps Club.

"We extend our deepest sympathy to Damian’s wife Leeanne and children, as well as the entire McGovern and McGinley families.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all at the Derrygonnelly Harps club at this extremely difficult time and as they try to come to terms with this huge loss."

Derrygonnelly Harps also released a statement on their website.

"Our club’s Youth Chairperson, Minor manager, committee member and driving force of our club in countless ways, Damian McGovern lost his life today.

"Words could not ever express our devastation and our pain and sorrow for Damian’s family, but our prayers are with them and with Damy in heaven.

"Damian’s remains will not be back in Derrygonnelly in the immediate term. We will inform when arrangements for waking etc are in place. GAA family, please support the McGoverns and the Harps with your prayers."
