Tempo 0-07 Belcoo 2-14

Tempo’s search for a first win of the campaign goes on after Sunday morning’s defeat on home soil to Belcoo.
The O’Rahillys were worthy winners having raced into an early lead which they never came close to relinquishing.
Belcoo galloped into a six point lead with the opening point of the match coming from Ian Corrigan.
A free flowing move up field ended with Corrigan tuning and tapping it over the bar.
Aaron Dolan added a second from a free before James Stewart landed a score from his weaker left foot.
The visitors had found their rhythm and continued to pick off points.
Their fourth came from corner back Gavin Leonard before Matthew McAloon added one from a free and one from play to leave it 0-00 to 0-06.
Tempo finally found the target after 20 minutes on the clock, Niall McElroy landed the first and minutes later Ryan Bogue found his range.
Belcoo responded though with further points from Paul McGrath and Aaron Dolan to leave the home side trailing 0-02 to 0-07 at the break.
Like in the opening half, Belcoo began the second half brightly.
Tempo goalkeeper Matthew Jackson was blocked down trying to clear his line but the ball fell to Dean McDermott who volleyed from close range to the net.
Aaron Dolan extended Belcoo’s lead before Tempo enjoyed their best spell of the match.
Three unanswered points from the home side from Niall McElroy (2) and Declan Owens left the score 0-05 to 1-09.
Belcoo hit back immediately though with four unanswered points all from Paul McGrath.
Tempo did have a couple of goal chances as they desperately tried to salvage something from the game.
James McGrath in nets, denying Niall McCusker on one occasion.
Instead it was Belcoo who added to their goals tally.
They worked the ball out of defence through Stephen Nolan, Paul McGrath and Gavin Leonard with Leonard playing on Matthew McAloon who blasted to the net.
Ryan Bogue and Rory Foy tagged on late consolation points but it was Jonathan Feeley who had the final say from a point to rubber stamp a very convincing win for Belcoo.
Hugh Donnelly, former Tempo trainer when they won the league and championship double in 2012 and now the current Belcoo Manager said:
“I know with the game being a starred game both sides were weakened and I would say Tempo just had an off day.
“We can only beat what’s put in front of us though and we got the two points.
“We were the better side and the win helps us out of the bottom four which is our priority.
“It’s coming to the important part of the year and championship is around the corner but we feel the tide is slowly changing and we’re getting there.”
He went on to add:
“It was probably one of our best performances this year.
“We probably weren’t too happy with how we finished the game but it’s hard to keep that intensity up when you’re leading 2-13 to five points.”
Best for Belcoo was Declan Leonard in defence, Barry McGovern and Christopher Leonard won a lot of ball in the middle of the field and up front Paul McGrath was a threat throughout.
For Tempo Conor Foy in defence and Niall McCusker in attack were the best on show for the home side.
