Irvinestown Wanderers 1 Enniskillen Rangers 1

A Stephen Sheridan goal in the final ten minutes at the Bawnacre gave Irvinestown Wanderers a point against unbeaten Enniskillen Rangers on Saturday.
In fairness it was hard to argue that the battling Wanderers did not deserve something from the game and while Rangers dominated possession, they struggled to turn these into real chances.
Wanderers manager Rory Cassidy was happy to get another point on the board and felt it was a deserved share of the spoils.
“I thought we deserved something from the game,” said Rory. “Rangers had a lot of the ball but I thought we created the better of the chances. Jerome (Carleton) made three good saves for them in the first half. It is good to get a another point on the board but we want to now get a few wins. I have to say, I can’t fault the effort of the players on the pitch and they are giving everything for the jersey and the club each week.”
For Rangers’ manager Michael Kerr it was another away draw following the concession of a late goal. “It was definitely two points dropped and we did not play well at all. Whether it was the big pitch or Irvinestown’s direct style, we did not get our passing going quickly enough, it is a second away game that we have drawn after leading and you can’t really afford to be dropping points like that,” said Kerr who added.
“The season has also been very stop start we have no game again this week and it is very hard to get a run going. We have the Junior on Saturday week followed by a few tough league games, we will know more then.”
Rangers started the brighter and the in-form Mark Cutler was again to the fore as he latched on to a headed clearance from a Rangers corner to unleash a great shot that Frank Ward dived full length to save well.
At the other end, Wanderers came close with a shot that flashed across the face of the goal and then Carleton did well to save at point blank range from Gary Maguire as he ghosted in after Willie Burleigh had slipped.
The dangerous Maguire was at it again soon after when he combined well with Christopher McMulkin to break through and although he rounded Carleton, he could not get his shot away in time and Carleton got back to block the shot with his legs.
Rangers finished the half the stronger with two chances of their own.  Ciaran Smith slipped the ball through to Adam Wallace on the edge of the box but Conor McAleer got back well to block his shot.
Then Wallace found Darren Higginbotham who played a neat ball to Cutler who broke into the area and shot across goal but Ward saved superbly low down to his right.
The second half continued in a similar vein.
Paddy Beresford volleyed wide from the edge of the box after a Cutler cross was cleared and then Wallace had a gilt edged chance but his shot rolled agonisingly wide of the post with Ward rooted to the spot and beaten.
At the other end, the impressive Maguire set up Stephen Sheridan but his shot was saved by Carleton and they then had a three on two break but could not convert as Neil Coulter covered well.
Kerr rang the changes and one of these was to break the deadlock.
Ollie Russell fired in a free kick and Nial Wallace rose highest to send a looping header into the top corner for 1-0 with 15 minutes remaining. Then, Jarno Glass intercepted and could have shot but pulled the ball back to Higginbotham but Irvinestown got back to clear.
The drama was not done and Irvinestown were to get an equaliser. Miller dispossessed Smith who tried to foul him, the referee played a good  advantage and Maguire rolled in a ball to Sheridan who slotted home into the corner of the net for 1-1.
It could have been worse for Rangers as Sheridan had a the last chance of the game but Carleton saved well at the back post as the game ended all square.
