Belcoo’s Brendan Dolan will begin his World Championship campaign on Tuesday night when he takes on Christian Kist of Holland in the first round of the William Hill World Championships at the Alexandra Palace.
It is a tough opener for the Fermanagh man against the world number 38 but he has began to find form in recent weeks and he will be hoping to bring that into the PDC’s showcase championships which as always will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Dolan progressed through to the last eight of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton last month before going down to eventual winner and world number one Michael Van Gerwen and he will be keen to build on that.
World number 23, Dolan will have his sights set on making sure that he is still involved in the competition after Christmas when the competition really gets down to business.
The William Hill World Darts Championships begins today (Thursday) and concludes with the final which takes place on Monday January 2.
