Roslea 4-14 Teemore 0-09.

Roslea produced another thoroughly satisfying performance to claim a 17 point win against a Teemore side who showed little in the way of resistance.

With key personnel returning the Shamrocks look like a team of real menace as they prepare for their championship quarter final on Sunday week with Ederney.

This represented their fourth win in succession, a point that pleased their manager, former Tyrone ace, Brian Gormley; “The most we had won in a row before this was two so it is good to get a few results like that.

“We are getting players back on the pitch which is the main thing and things are going better because of that,” he explained.

Sean Quigley was again the star of the show as he struck for a goal and ten points with his scores again coming from a healthy balance of frees and play.

Brother Seamus was deployed at centre half forward and produced another productive display and his return is a real boost to the team.

Roslea achieved the win without the injured trio of Kevin Cosgrove, Niall Cassidy and James McMahon and it looks likely that the three will be in contention for a championship place which should further bolster their chances.

By half time Roslea had shot into a 1-10 to 0-03 with Quigley providing 1-08 of that total. Brendan Sherlock and Niall Cosgrove also splitting the posts.

For Teemore their response came from Liam Martin and Eoin McManus but in truth their challenge was minimal as Roslea dominated in practically all areas of the field.

In the second half the home side secured three further goals with Conor Quigley scoring an excellent individual effort, soloing from the middle of the field through the heart of the Teemore defence before finishing well.

Niall Cosgrove and Seamus Quigley raised the other green flags for Roslea.

Cosgrove and Sean Quigley shared the points for the home side as the game meandered towards its inevitable conclusion.

Teemore did register more of a fight in that second half and had six scores of their own with Martin and McManus again the providers. They were the side’s two most dependable forwards on the day while Jason McCaffrey put in a solid shift in the middle of the field with Damien Lee also performing well in a defence that generally found proceedings difficult.

For the winners Marty Renfrew, Cathal Lynam and Ciaran Cassidy were efficient and dependable in defence with the Quigley brothers all eye catching in different ways further up the field while Niall Cosgrove continues to prove elusive for defences from his wing half forward slot.

All attention now shifts to the championship and Gormley is looking forward to the challenge; “That’s one half of the year over now and we move on the championship and hopefully we can get our full squad available to us for the first time this year which would be ideal,” he concluded.
