Enniskillen Royal Boat Club had a number of rowers on international duty last weekend at the Home International Regatta.
Jack Kennedy, Peter Murphy, Michael Stewart, Robbie Mills, Zoe McCutcheon, Caitylnn Fee and cox Sarah Dolan all represented Ireland as they took on England, Scotland and Wales at the National Rowing Centre in Cork.
This was the second stage in the Festival of Rowing at the venue throughout the month of July.
The girls 8+ were narrowly beaten by England with the girls 4X-, the boys 8+ and boys 4X+ all taking third places in their respective events.
Meanwhile, former Portora Boat Club member Joe Nelson was also participating at the Regatta as captain of the Scotland men’s team in Cork.
Nelson had rowed for Portora for five years and then went on to row for Heriot Watt University which is how he qualified for Scotland. Joe was part of the Mens 8s who finished second to Ireland in a thrilling race.
There will be more international representation this weekend for ERBC rowers as Nathan Timoney, Odhran Donaghy, Jack McDade, Sam Balcombe and Rory Farragher take on 13 other European countries in Coupe de la Jeunesse which will be the final event in the Festival of rowing at the National Rowing Centre in Cork.
