Ballinamallard United U15s secured another away cup win last Saturday this time beating a strong Coleraine side who had only tasted defeat twice all season 2-1.

Coleraine began the brighter, holding more possession without threatening the Mallards' goal.

The midfield trio of Daniel Gawley, Luke Robb and Oliver Robertson began to settle on the ball with Jay Largo-Elis looking threatening on the wing.

15 minutes in a dangerous ball into the box was brilliantly defended by the impressive Kelan Boyle. This was quickly followed by a diving save from Adam Magee.

Minutes later, a blistering run from Jack Fulton saw him skip past the defence and the onrushing keeper, but his goalbound effort was cleared by a retreating defender.

On the half-hour mark, the Mallards took the lead with Joshua Humes, under pressure from his marker, hitting a sublime half volley from 20 yards into the top corner.

Coleraine threatened to equalise either side of halftime but Boyle, Oscar Timlin, Eoghan McArdle and Rhys Murphy defended well assisted by the hard-working midfield.

The reward came 10 minutes into the second half.

Humes dropped off his marker to receive the ball before playing it into the path of Fulton. The attacker got behind the defence before slotting the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

Coleraine forced a succession of corners that were bravely dealt with but it was the visitors who looked more likely to score.

Fulton and Largo-Elis both coming close before a smart turn and shot from Jack Stevenson produced a fantastic save from Lees.

With 20 minutes to go, Coleraine were handed a lifeline when Pollock dispatched a penalty.

The Mallards dealt with numerous balls into the box before moving it through midfield and releasing their lively attack.

Stevenson and Fulton had further chances to increase the lead after smart play from Gawley, Robb and Robertson before the ref blew the whistle on an exciting second half.
