Philip Swift Super Valu Reserve A Championship; Tempo Maguires progressed through to the next round of the Junior Championship with a narrow one point win following a tight encounter with Enniskillen Gaels on Tuesday night in Irvinestown.

The Gaels had held a one point advantage at half time, and although Tempo managed to get back on level terms, a goal from Conor Kelly pushed Enniskillen four points clear 12 minutes from the end of the contest.

Tempo though were much the better side in the second half and they fought back to draw the game before pushing on to take the lead with Conor Meehan firing over the point that put them in front.

Enniskillen then had a late chance to snatch victory but Liam Lindsay"s shot smacked off the crossbar and much to the relief of Tempo the referee blew the final whistle to send Tempo through.

Tempo started the game brightly and two points from full forward Neil Rogers as well as a point from Niall McCusker pushed them into an early three point advantage, 0-04 to 0-01.

However the Gaels responded well to this and by the break they had managed to claim a one point lead, 0-07 to 0-06.

Liam Lindsay, John Slowey, Conal Smyth, Nigel O"Connor and Damian Shannon all rattled over points for Enniskillen while McCusker and Thomas Dunne clipped over points for Tempo.

It was Tempo who were the more threatening side in the second half with Ciaran Murphy and Dunne putting in a solid shift in the middle of the park.

However with 12 to go it was Enniskillen who looked to be in the driving seat as Conor McAleer powered up the wing before delivering a ball across goal. Kelly was the quickest to react to this and he fisted the ball into the net to put Enniskillen into a 1-08 to 0-07 lead.

This though was to be the Gaels final score of the contest and Tempo pressed on with Declan Campbell a growing influence in the final quarter from centre half back.

McCusker was among the scores as Tempo clawed their way back to level terms, Campbell knocking over the score that tied the game and then in injury time Meehan notched a point to put Tempo into a one point lead.

Right at the death Lindsay had the opportunity to grab at least a draw for the Gaels as he was put through on goal but the corner forward"s effort smashed off the crossbar and with this the final action of the game Tempo held on to set up a semi-final meeting with Roslea.
