Enniskillen Seconds put in a much-improved display to secure two valuable league points against Bangor last Saturday.

Well-led by captain Richie Grey, Skins went at Bangor from the start and forced play deep into the Bangor half. After 10 minutes good Skin’s pressure yielded a penalty which was converted by Charleton.

Skins increased their lead after 15 minutes when following a long kick from Bangor, Charleton fielded well and made a good break. Skins won a good ruck on the right hand side and then moved the ball left to Welsh who found Taylor who crossed for a good try.

From the restart, and a Skins knock-on, Bangor did well with a series of pick-and-gos but Skins defended well and again brought play back into the Bangor half. Charleton made it 11-0 with a penalty after a Bangor infringement.

On 25 minutes, a Bangor penalty to touch was well-fielded by Charleton and his wind-assisted kick brought play deep into the Bangor half. More Skins pressure secured the ball and following good inter-passing the evergreen Paul Burns crossed for a converted try.

In the second half Bangor exerted early pressure on Skins who were temporarily down to 14 men.

Skins were resolute in defence against the visitors onslaught and in truth if Bangor were going to come back they had to get an early score.

Despite the best efforts of their full-back, scrumhalf and wing forward there was no way through. After 55 minutes Skins worked their way to the Bangor line and mauled over for Welsh to get the touchdown.

A good run by Gormley brought play back to the Bangor half where much of the rest of the game was played out. As Bangor tired Skins continued to force the pace and added tries by Henderson and Daly.

The referee blew the match up early to leave the home side worthy winners 33-0.

With two matches remaining, Skins still need points, if they can re-produce a similar performance then safety is well within their grasp.
