THE Ardhowen has murderous plots and intrigue on the cards in ‘The Murder Room’ presented by Holywood Players tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow and Seán Keane returns for an amazing evening of traditional and folk music along with plenty of craic on Saturday night.

THE MURDER ROOM Tonight and Friday at 8pm Holywood Players present ‘The Murder Room’ by Jack Sharkey. This fabulous mystery farce concerning newly-weds Edgar and Mavis begins two days after their wedding when Edgar discovers that Mavis, a nasty piece of work, is being unfaithful.

After her first attempt to kill him by poisoning his cocoa when the cat dies instead, Mavis resorts to shooting him and then returning to her lover. Chaos and complications reign when it transpires that the shots were blanks and that Edgar’s body has vanished!

SEÁN KEANE IN CONCERT Acclaimed Sean-nós singer Seán Keane returns to The Ardhowen for the first time in many years on Saturday at 8pm. The Sean Keane band has been touring Europe, Canada and Ireland for many years now. With the amazing voice and multi-instrumentalist talents of Seán Keane alongside the guitar virtuoso Pat Coyne and the intuitive ear and instrumental skills of Fergus Feely on the Mandocello, the Seán Keane Band is second to none presenting original interpretations of traditional Irish, folk and haunting world music tunes. Both Pat and Fergus have been touring with Seán for many years. Join Seán, Fergus and Pat for a night of great music, fun and the opportunity to hear this unique voice as he sings some of his well known hits.

Support act for the evening are Éiru. A Celtic fusion of Irish Traditional and Folk with modern elements, Éiru was founded in 2013 in the village of Milltown, Co. Cavan. The band consists of Aisling Leddy on Flute, Beatrice Sheridan on vocals/Guitar/Bouzouki, Eilish Flood on Fiddle, Grainne Egan on Whistle, Fiona Brady on Guitar/Mandolin and backing vocals, Theresa McManus on lead vocals and Bodhran.

THE LEGENDS OF AMERICAN COUNTRY SHOW The Legends of American Country Show come to the Ardhowen on Friday, September 4, at 8pm featuring the music of some of the biggest names in the history of American Country Music including Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson and Johnny Cash.

Four well known vocalists, Evan O’ Donnell, Joe Moore, Rod and Tracey McAuley, who between them have a wealth of experience and glittering careers that span over 30 years, will each perform a string of hits from the featured artists, complete with authentic costume changes and in the company of a live six piece band consisting of some of Ireland’s top musicians.

The specially designed stage set adds the finishing touch to what will be a great show creating the atmosphere of that real American Country Music show experience.
