FERMANAGH Film Club are participating in the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (NIMHAFF).

In conjunction with a couple of other film clubs in Northern Ireland, it will screen the film, ‘Take Shelter’ this Saturday at 8pm.

In ‘Take Shelter’, Curtis, a father and husband, is starting to experience bad dreams and hallucinations. Assuming mental illness, he seeks medical help and counseling. However, fearing the worst, he starts building an elaborate and expensive storm shelter in their backyard. This storm shelter threatens to tear apart his family, threatens his sanity and his standing in the community, but he builds it to save his family’s life.

The screening will take place at Fermanagh House.

Admission is £5 and any profits will be donated to Aisling Centre’s counselling service.

Meanwhile, Fermanagh Film Club’s next ‘regular’ film is screening on October 15 at 8pm. ‘Of Horses and Men’ is situated in Iceland, with stunning photography.

A country romance about the human streak in the horse and the horse in the human, love and death become interlaced and with immense consequences in this film.
